We represent
clients who have received traffic tickets and who are under investigation for, or been charged with, criminal offenses. We do this on a selective basis, and we will evaluate your case to see if we think we can be of assistance to you. We are not a high volume criminal/traffic defense law firm; rather, we handle these cases when we believe we can make a difference for our client.
A traffic ticket may cost you more than a fine and court costs. Insurance premiums can go up and your driver's license may be taken away. Wisconsin assesses demerit points to drivers convicted of moving violations, beginning on the date of the violation. When 12 or more demerit points are accumulated in one year, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will suspend your driver's license for at least two months. For more information, see the Wisconsin DOT website at http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/drivers/points/point.htm.
Criminal charges can have long-term consequences for your future. Anyone charged with a crime, even a "minor" crime, should be represented by an attorney. If you believe you cannot afford an attorney, you should contact the Office of the State Public Defender. http://www.wisspd.org/. Brian Maloney represents clients in criminal cases on a selective basis. He is a former district attorney and has been involved in several high-profile criminal cases in recent years, and has obtained acquittals in his last three criminal trials.
